Dear St. James parishioners,
Here are a few important notices. Bishop McClory has announced that public Masses will not resume until after Easter. The liturgies of Holy Week will continue privately, and we will do our best to stream these liturgies through our website. This will be a very different Holy Week and Easter for all of us. But we can make the most of it by remembering our daily prayer and remembering to pray for the sick and those who care for them. We will be back to public Masses at some point. At that time, we will celebrate!
Bishop McClory has also requested that church bells be rung at noon and 6pm for the faithful to join in daily prayer at those times. Two simple prayers the bishop recommends at those times are: “Jesus I trust in you” and “Our Lady of Lourdes, pray for us”. Pope Francis will confer a special blessing on Friday March 27 at 12 Noon (CST), which can be seen on television or the internet.
