Dear St.James Parishioners,

I just want to let you know a few things in light of the cancelation of public Masses in the Diocese of Gary. Masses will continue to be said privately by Father Gregory and myself. All Mass intentions will be fulfilled. We are available for emergency pastoral care, including Anointing of the Sick and Last Rites. Funerals and Baptisms can continue following the appropriate guidelines for social distancing and reduced number of people.

Mass is televised on EWTN [and our YouTube channel and Facebook page] and other places. As the faithful miss out on the reception of Holy Communion, we can ask the Lord for the grace of a spiritual communion with Him. It is so important to keep up with our regular, daily prayer. We can do our best to keep the Lord’s Day holy.

Most of all, let us pray for each other, and especially for the sick. Let us be mindful of the Lord Jesus and His Holy Cross, and know that He is with us.

Father Brian
